About us
Toller Tree Care
Established in 2012. Fully insured with public, employers, and product liability. Staff are NPTC or LANTRA qualified and work to high standards. We offer affordable, efficient, trustworthy, and professional tree, woodland, and countryside work.
We offer a varied range of services covering commercial and domestic sectors. Our equipment is best suited to estate or larger town and country houses, this is where we carry out the majority of our work. We are equally adept at smaller domestic town tree work.
Toller Tree Care is an associate member of The Arboricultural Association. This gives us access to resources, training, and the need to comply with an industry Code of Ethics.
Alongside the conventional Dorset tree work, we have been heavily involved with commercial seed collection throughout the UK. Since 2014 we have been providing teams of climbers to collect seeds from the tops of the finest trees on offer. These species include Scots Pine, Douglas fir, Coastal Redwood, Giant Redwood, Sycamore, Lime, Aspen, Western Red Cedar, and Japanese Cedar. Some of these trips collect enough seeds to create 1,000,000+ new trees.
Ian Geddes
Owner and founder of Toller Tree Care Ltd.
Having grown up on a farm I have been fortunate enough to be immersed in the countryside. Since attending Kingston Maurward College(KMC) 2004-2006 studying for a national diploma in countryside management I have been involved in many aspects of countryside, tree surgery and rope access work. I have always worked hard and looked for interesting and exiting work all over the world.
After finishing college my career started as a Dorset wildlife trust(DWT) West Dorset reserves warden, responsible for co-ordinating and carrying out work over 9 nature reserve’s, about 860 acres. I worked for DWT for a number of years with tree climbing always being a hobby and interest.
In 2012 I had the opportunity to be part of a team of 3 tree climbers heading out to Chile to climb and make a film about the Alerce tree, Fitzroya Cupressoides. Since then I have worked in Honduras, Guyana, Oman and Morocco; providing training, adventure tourism, film and TV work while developing the business. Since starting a family these trips are now few and far between with me focusing on Toller Tree Care Ltd work within the UK.
